Another month, another Strange issue of Marvel Age! This time, readers got an inside look at the new Doctor Strange series by returning writer Roy Thomas (who wrote Doc's 1968 solo series), with new co-writer Dann Thomas and artist Jackson Guice.

The five-page comics preview now seems to be a new, regular feature. Absent in this issue is Newswatch, skipping an issue for the first time...ever, I think.

Stan Lee, never one to turn down an opportunity to appear in front of a camera, talks up the documentary "Comic Book Confidential," which featured not only our man Stan, but also Robert Crumb, Art Spiegelman, William Gaines, Al Feldstein, Will Eisner, Harvey Kurtzman, Jack Kirby, Frank Miller and more -- those are the ones Stan mentions, at least. I saw that film when it came out and liked it, but if there are more comics stars in it, I sure don't remember who they are!
