If you had any doubts that this was the 1990s, well -- here's Darkhawk, one of the most 1990s characters ever, at least until Image Comics came along! 

But just because the 1990s had arrived doesn't mean Marvel was putting the past behind it. Witness the return of Shang Chi in the 80-page special Master of Kung Fu: Bleeding Black, by the late-period classic team of Doug Munch, Dan Day, and David Day. 

Plus, Peter David gets the Pro File treatment, while four years into his long run as writer of The Incredible Hulk, the Jade Giant's different personalities merge together in issue #377, signaling the series' latest new direction. Peter would go on to write the Hulk's adventures for almost eight more years and nearly 100 more issues.
