In 1993 Marvel was prepping for the blockbuster project Marvels, as feature in Marvel Age #130. The series went on to be the big breakthrough for writer Kurt Busiek and artist Alex Ross, as well as heralding a new mainstream interest in painted comics and ushering in a raft of titles that reimagined comics history from the point of view of ordinary people.

This issue also looks at the rap-based comic Break the Chain, some new horror comics, and an imaginative episode of "The Bossmen."

The issue also includes an X-Men / Avengers anniversary poster, which drove the cover price up to $1.25 again.
